Memory Design

Unique experiences. Memories that last a lifetime.

What remains of an exceptional hotel stay, a special shopping experience or a high-quality service?

Often, it is not the flawless processes that we remember. Rather, it is the individual moments: an unexpected gesture of kindness, a detail that was just right, someone who understood the situation, or the feeling of having been truly recognised as an person.

Based on more than 25 years’ experience in the luxury hospitality industry, spa and service culture, I have developed Memory Design: a customised approach that transforms a high-quality service into an unforgettable experience.

Memory Design combines the identity of a brand or a venue with the expectations and emotions of its guests and customers.

What makes Memory Design special

Memory Design doesn't start with the question of what additional services could be offered.

It starts with the question:
What do you hope a guest or customer will remember afterwards?

From there, we consider the entire journey: touchpoints, communication, processes, spaces, people, rituals, details and the small opportunities that often go untapped in day-to-day operations.

This is not about standardised ‘wow moments’. What creates an extraordinary memory in a seaside resort may be completely inappropriate in a city hotel. What works for a luxury retail brand must be conceived entirely differently for a high-end property concept.

Distinctiveness arises where an experience is consistently developed from the brand’s own identity.

Made to measure

Every memory design concept is developed individually for each specific commission.

This includes combining the guest’s or client’s perspective with the brand, location, product, staff and the company’s operational capabilities.

The result can be special moments and rituals, but also changes in communication, processes, the flow of information, environmental details or the employees’ scope for action.

The aim is not to achieve more. The aim is to shape the right things in such a way that they take on meaning.

Luxury Retail

Deliberately individual

Memory Design is a custom-developed concept, not a standardised consultancy service. The in-depth engagement with the brand, location, people and customers, as well as the development of distinctive ideas, mean that the method is deliberately only scalable to a limited extent.

Memory Design is therefore developed exclusively on request and within the framework of a specific consultancy contract.

This ensures that each concept is created independently and that the experiences developed truly form part of the client’s identity.

People do not remember every perfect sequence of events. They remember how a particular moment felt.

Memory Design creates the conditions to ensure that such moments are not left entirely to chance.
